The Ditch the Day Job Diaries

In February 2012 I took voluntary redundancy after ten years working a number of different positions within the Scottish civil service.

Previously to that I had worked for around five years in various other jobs including in a record store, a call centre, a supermarket, pub/club and a computer store.

But during that time I was also busy being creative, learning new skills and building up a portfolio of writing for various local publications, blogging and appearing on radio and at live events. I managed to get regular work as a freelance copywriter throughout 2011 and had already reduced my hours to four days a week.

Still, it is a big change, and I decided to track each week through a video diary. These are only for subscribers of the weekly Clear-Minded Creative newsletter so if you want to see the full story, sign up and you will get immediate access to all the existing episodes, as well as notification when each new episode is available to watch.

(please note that there will be no new episodes from June -July 2012 so I can focus on completing freelance work but a new update will come at the beginning of July!)
